Lead development of overall Procurement strategies for the Automotive Group to support the Five Year Plans. Support related initiatives.
Lead development of the international commodity supply strategy to support the overall Automotive Group strategy including rationalization of low cost supply opportunities. Recommend, evaluate and implement insourcing and outsourcing opportunities for all Asian Automotive Branches.
Review all Purchasing Agreements and / or Contracts for direct and indirect material purchases CAPEX’s, inter-company purchase agreements, service agreements and property lease agreements. Obtain hierarchal and / or corporate approval as necessary.
Prepare and implement local and Group policies as appropriate.
Review and manage supplier / component capacity for the Asian region.
Oversee supplier evaluation activity consistent with established metrics. Host annual Supplier Day.
Directly manage the Automotive Group Purchasing staff based at our Shanghai facility. Directly manage the branch commodity managers on all activity relating to the functional purchasing requirements of the Asian region. Actively contribute to professional development of the Purchasing staff.
At least 10 years related management experience in Purchasing / Procurement.in an automotive environment.
University degree, preferably MBA. CPP designation.
Demonstrated understanding of automotive industry methods and practices particular to Supplier / Customer networks and relations.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a global automotive supply chain organization.
Strong business & financial acumen.
Excellent communication, strategic and leadership skills.
Good command of English both in oral and written.
